Peter Anthony Paskie, passed away on the morning of October 10th, 2017 in his home in Langley, B.C.   Peter was the third child of Theodore Arnold Paskie, and Joan Teresa Paskie, and was born in North York, Ontario.  He was younger brother to oldest sister, Janette Landry, and older sister, Marynna Berezowski, and was older brother to Ronald Paskie.

Peter grew up in Ontario, and enjoyed his family cottage at Lake Simcoe.  He spent many summers swimming all day in the lake, and building snow forts in the winter.  He moved to Vancouver, B.C., when he was 11 years old, and graduated from Delta Secondary School in Ladner. Peter was an excellent athlete and participated in many sports including softball, tennis, and boxing.  He won the National Boxing Championship title twice, and was a 3-time golden glove champion as well.

His father, Ted Paskie, supported both him, and his National Boxing Championship brother Ron, in this sport.Peter was also a very creative artist, and could be found drawing in his spare time as a youth.  He also had a very innovative mind, and was always trying to invent solutions to everyday practical problems.  Peter began working in construction as a young man, and formed Paskie Developments, where he was a successful contractor who built, and remodelled homes in BC’s lower mainland.  His creative skills, and hard work ethic, as well as his integrity, made him a much sought-after contractor.

As a friend, Peter was loyal, and fun to be around.  His witty, and dry sense of humour kept everyone in smiles, and he had many friends.  He was father to Erika, Kayla, and Angelica Paskie, whom he loved, and was extremely proud of. We are heartbroken that he has left our presence at such a young age, but we pray that he is in heaven, rejoicing with the angels.A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Andrew's Anglican Church at 20955 Old Yale Rd, Langley, BC, on Sunday, October 29th, at 1:30pm. All are welcome. View Tribute Book.

Peter and I first met in the ring approximately 40 years ago. We are the same age, have three children of similar age and our marriages ended at the same time. We became reacquainted at the Astoria Boxing Club where we both sought legal advice from our former coach and Provincial Court Judge, George Angelomatis. Shortly thereafter, we became room-mates and great friends. Peter impressed me with how he conducted himself. His daughters were always his first priority. He never missed a day of work. He worked out daily and would help others whenever possible. Even though we were both going through difficult times, Peter's humour was a ray of sunlight everyday.

I still hear him saying, "Now I know why your wife left you." Over the past few years, Peter and I have enjoyed visits and fishing trips. The time we got his girls and my boys together for an afternoon of tobogganing is especially memorable. A couple of years ago Peter and his girlfriend joined us for my birthday camping trip. It poured rain in the middle of the night, flooding out the tent housing my now blended family of 5 children. Peter welcomed all the kids to sleep in his RV. I am deeply saddened that Peter's passing was just a week before he was to come visit at our Lake house. I have spent much time reminiscing about my dear friend and the many memorable moments he brought to my life. God blessed me with your friendship, Peter!

It was with great sadness that we heard of Peter's passing. It is never easy when a sibling passes away so young.
We hope he finds peace and happiness and is with his parents in a better place.

Our thoughts are with you at this time.

Julie Ascott and family.

To my dearest cousin. I will never forget how you treated me with kindness, gentleness and respect at a family gathering. I am saddened that we could not share more time together. I would have enjoyed more of your humour, your artistry and your unconventional, gifted view of this world. May God in his infinite love embrace you, as you reunite with your cherished parents. With hearts full of prayer, from Jennifer, Joshua and Jeremy Wojcik. Wieczny odpoczynek należy do Ciebie.

Driving around in his red convertible to the beach, playing Volleyball His visits to Toronto were just as fun.
Peter loved getting together with family and enjoying home cooked polish traditional food . My heart is heavy but you're at peace Peter
